A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract slowly turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the original plan for the long run. Similar to many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more intricate than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually habits took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built SubtleHarborNest
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Switzerland.
